Animatic

We have now finalised our animatic and as you will be able to see as soon as we upload the final cut then you will notice the drawing were not as i had expected as well we didn't draw them as we would of liked but it has turned out to look how we are planning our opening to look like as it sticks to the general idea and theme. we are very happy with our animatic as it gives the right impression of our film and is designed in the way we needed. the only issues we had with our animatic was the music design as we didnt have a clue of what kind of music to use for our piece. We have now choosen to use a mix of musical themes for example a cross between club and R&B but we have still not finalised on the music that we are to use for our piece.

Music/Soundtrack

We have had a few ideas for the music theme and we are thinking along the lines;
a band named 'Example' and their song 'We came, we saw, we killed the crowd' this song we found was very fitting to the theme and stood out from all our other tunes.

Although we would like to use this music and soundtrack we are still not sure whether we can use this as our overall music. In the end, we were not allowed to use this soundtrack so we created one of our own in garageband.

Story Boards

Our storyboards we have now finished creating. We have settled with the ideas that we will begin our story board with a shot of a group of people as in a gang of mates and one goes off and we follow his trip to a random place his whole journey is him leading us into places that are very common and run down. Through out the journey the lad/girl is listening to music not a song as such just a beat to a song throughout so the sound will be the diagetic and so seen on the i-pod.
Our storyboard contains images of simple things such as;
- Windows [shop windows, house windows]
- A Rave [Rave]
- Spilt drinks
- News stands
- Grave yard
All very random scene's and through out the scenes the boy/girl walks past the scene and it carry's on like this throughout the opening.

Our group has had some initial ideas and we put forward our best features to create our social realist opening sequence. The ideas that we put together create the plot to the opening of the film:

The main character is a teenage female who does not get on with her family. She ends up getting kicked out onto the streets and starts to hang out with the wrong crowd who get her into drugs and alcohol. Quickly, she runs out of money and one of her friends introduces her into prostitution to get some money in time to pay off her debts to the drug dealers.

Another idea that we had was a different story line in the genre of social realist drama:

The film opens with the shot of a camera following a man or woman on their way through a counsel estate. On his journey he comes across many different senarios. TBC....

Mood Board

For our mood board, we looked up different pictures on the internet to do with certain themes for our British socialist drama opening sequence. Beforehand, we made a spider diagram of all the themes that could be shown in our opening sequence and we came up with;
Raves,
Graffiti,
Violence,
Chavs, Yobs and Gangsters,
Smoking, Drinking and Drugs.
We then went on the internet and found quite a few pictures and put them all into a powerpoint, each slide about a different theme.

Our logo

Our production logo is now finished:

LOGO!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

In our first lesson on our new topic we have been studying and creating new logos for our group. we have come up with our band name as Asbo Productions, thanks to Nathans intuitive thinking. For our final design for our logo we have decided on a simple fade in and out wording which contains the name of our brand which is in the font style of Edwardian script ITC which is a rather posh font which kind of spreads an ironic structure to the logo. it also has a small blue crown which is situated on top of the A in Asbo and at the end of the logo it tilts. Also at the very beginning it has a blue trolley which is moving across the screen. We have found that we are very happy with our logo so far and if we could do any improvement it would have to firstly be a changed theme as we find that this logo fits in perfectly with our theme for our opening sequence which is social realist drama.
